The deliberations, ramblings, ponderings and sometimes humorous accounts of an addicted Digi scrapper and mother.

My Photo
Name: Sue Jones
Location: Australia

I am a mother, a partner, a scrapper, a designer, a taxi driver, a spell checker etc etc and apparently life 'began' for me on my birthday two years ago. *edited to add*: It has been brought to my attention that some people don't understand what I mean by 'Life began for me last year'. It is just a polite way of telling you how old I really am as there is a saying here in Australia that "Life Begins at 40".

And Today is....

... an anniversary that I wish I didn't have to remember. I know we all have those sort of anniversaries though. I'm just feeling sorry for me. So here is my layout.
Credits are as follows: Background - Sincerely Yours Papers; Stitching - Matilda Kit; Tag - DSD November Mega Kit; Wordart - Angel Wordart; Filetab (recoloured) - Amelie Kit. All by Sue Jones Fonts - Landsdowne and Enchanted Prairie Dog

So today has been really busy and I've only just now got the chance to sit and do this layout and post it.
(btw - sorry about my blog. I don't know what I did to break it, but if anybody knows how to fix it I'll be eternally grateful).
I did a 45 minute cardio workout this afternoon and then came home and went on a 40 minute walk with The Man of the House, Miss Four and the Dog. Of course today the Man of the House decided to incorporate a hill. Gee thanks dear!

Well I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I'll have to do another blog post in the next couple of days with all my new stuff (including the paper pack that I used in the layout). It's not in the DSD store until Friday in the US.

I never know how to end my blog posts and I'm sure there are people who read it that go "What the???" lol So today I'll leave you with one of my favourite quotes by Robert Frost - "Everything that I have learned about life can be summed up in three words - It Goes On"

Yes, I'm still here.....

Tell me where does the time go these days? Remember when you were a kid and the days used to drag by? Now it seems that I'm no sooner jumping out of bed in the morning than I'm sitting on the lounge at night and dozing off again.
I truly am sorry to those of you who faithfully check my blog each day and find nothing new. And thankyou to those of you who have emailed me - and I still haven't replied to your emails (oops).
My doctor told me the other day that the years between 40 and 60 are the busiest of our lives. I don't know why that is, but I have to agree with her. I've never been so busy as I have in the past 12 months or so.

So what have I been up to?
* Working. I only have two rostered shifts a week but they are back to back (but I often get asked to cover other times etc as well). So my Tuesday routine involves going to the gym, coming home and doing housework, cooking dinner etc and then picking up Miss Four from preschool and going to work. I'm lucky that I can take her with me. She is there for 40 minutes or so until her Daddy comes to get her. Then I work until it's time to lock up the gym and go home. I come home and call The Man of the House (who is at squash) to bring Miss Four home. Whilst I'm waiting for them to come home, I shower and then make lunches for the next day etc. Then it's the bedtime routine for the Miss and then I can stop.
Wednesday morning starts when the alarm goes off just after 5am. The Man of the House and I get up and get ready for work and then we have to wake up Miss Four and get her ready for preschool and eating some breakfast (very hard when said Miss Four is still trying to sleep because she had a late night the night before). I leave for work just before 6am and then The Man of the House takes Miss Four to daycare as soon as it opens a little while later. Then I work until my shift finishes (usually at 1pm although that has often stretched to 2), workout and then it's time to pick up Miss Four from preschool.
Are you tired yet from reading this??
Because Thursday is our 'girls' day out and we are on the go the whole time, I usually don't stop feeling tired until Friday.

So what else has been happening?
*Planning the oldest child's 21st birthday gathering for relatives. Can you say $$$$? It's amazing just how much these things cost and we are keeping the numbers down. She is having a big 21st party herself but she doesn't want any family members there. (Well I've been asked to come early to drop off Mr 17 and to take photos of the guests in their costumes but she doesn't want us to stay because we might cramp her style lol).
*Trying to keep up with my designing commitments. I've finished my contributions to the Digitals challenge kit and the DSD Mega kit this weekend.
*I have my Dad's BAS to do today
*Miss Four has had a dance recital at a Medieval Fair at Jimboomba and also had her grading. The Fair was fun (loved the re-enactments) but at the end of the night I realised one of my rings were missing. Of course I was so upset but I later found the ring in the bottom of the backpack we had taken. It had gotten cool at the fair and my rings had become loose. It must have fallen off whilst I was rummaging around in the bag.
*We have another broody hen. Yesterday we went out to one of the Man of the House's sisters farms and got some eggs from her for the hen to sit on. I'm truly hoping all six don't hatch. lol
*Sophia Davies(a designer at Digitals) had her baby girl!! Congratulations Sophia and welcome Miss Nichola.
*I bought some paper scrapping supplies!! How amazing is that? lol I couldn't pass up The Scrap Heap's bazzill sale when it was on and stocked up on cardstock I had run out of. (I know you're reading this Miss Christine and I want to thank you for your note. It put a smile on my face).
*The personal issues that some of you are aware of are ongoing. Any prayers you want to throw this way will be much appreciated. It's a hard time for us all but we are determined to get through all this. For those of you who have been praying - many thanks.
*I haven't posted any of my new products on my blog for a little while - sorry. But they are out there. Check out Amelie and my new Angel Wordart set at Digitals. (And big thanks to the beautiful Lis for plugging my wordart on her blog. You are such a beautiful person).

Well I think that's about it!! I'm going to try to keep a little more updated in future. But as the song says "If wishes were fishes, then all men would fly." (Okay I have no idea what that means either but Jon English sings it so it must be true!! rofl)

Happy Birthday Digitals!!!!!

Woo hoo, Digitals is two! Can you believe it? I joined Digitals when it was still a baby (about 6 months old) and now it is two. I must say that I LOVE being a part of this store. Stacey and Rick are the bestest bosses a girl could have (and they make pretty good friends as well).
Anyway, they have so much planned for the coming month including a Treasure Hunt where the prize each day is a piece of the Bohemian Birthday Kit put together by the Digitals designers. And there are other opportunities to earn prizes donated by the wonderful digiscrapping community including Dianne Rigdon, Kathryn Balint, Candice Wong, Rachel Dickson, Brenda Kempf, Doris Castle, Kelly Sauvage, Sara Skowbo, The Daily Scrap Team, Gayle Richter, Deco Pages, Erika Tenney, Shelle Pukas, Vera Lim and Scrap Outside the Box!!
As well as the usual challenges each month at Digitals (that earns you a piece of an awesome Autumn themed kit for each challenge completed), there is also a Birthday Card Designing contest.
And....... (I've saved the best 'til last)...........
How would you like to save 20% off everything in the Digitals store??? (Including everything of mine). Well get to Digitals now and check it all out!!!
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIGITALS!!!!

October Mega Kit @ DSD

I must admit that I really look forward to contributing to this kit. The talent of the designers at DSD is awesome!!
So the October kit is now in the store (well it will be when it's October 1st in the US). You can find it here

And here is a layout that I did using the kit. Although it is an Autumn themed kit, it works wonderfully with heritage photos as you can see. And at the low price of $5.00, it really is a bargain!
