The deliberations, ramblings, ponderings and sometimes humorous accounts of an addicted Digi scrapper and mother.

Name: Sue Jones
Location: Australia

I am a mother, a partner, a scrapper, a designer, a taxi driver, a spell checker etc etc and apparently life 'began' for me on my birthday two years ago. *edited to add*: It has been brought to my attention that some people don't understand what I mean by 'Life began for me last year'. It is just a polite way of telling you how old I really am as there is a saying here in Australia that "Life Begins at 40".

Just Teasin' Y'all

Okay, I'm really, really hoping to get these kits finished by this weekend but my week is just sooo busy.
It's Thursday already and my routine has already been disrupted because I have to work an extra hour. So that cuts my school time back an hour.
I'm hoping to get stuck into the designing again this afternoon.

But here's a sneak peek of 'The Machinery Shed' coming to the ES store (as soon as possible).

And here is peek at 'Sweet Spring' which is going into the Digitals store.

I'm really struggling with the elements on these this time. I find it so much easier to create backgrounds.
Okay, must run. I have to scan a photo and do up a mini-layout for my mother before I start motivating these children to get ready for school.
Oh, and thanks everyone who has wished my daughter and I luck for the coming months. She's just started to get a little bit of morning sickness. And she has another doctor's appointment tomorrow. So I'll keep you updated.

Announcements!!

A special post just to let you know about some pretty exciting stuff going on both in the digi world.... and in my life.

First off, I've got to share with you two great finds that I have found in my fellow designers at the ElementalScraps store. Wow, there are some talented ladies there.

First off, I have got my little hands on Melissa Bennett's "Lizzie's Party". I'm just in love with the papers in this and just can't wait for a few spare seconds to actually scrap with this kit.

And then I found these in Lucy Marino's part of the store. These are amazing. I learned to crochet when I was a little girl at my great grandmother's knee. I bet she would be totally amazed to know that I could add crocheted flowers to my layouts without picking up a crochet hook.

You can find these in the Elementalscraps store by clicking on the links I've included in my descriptions.

Now..... another big announcement from me.

I'm really excited about this and to be in such exalted company as these ladies.
And I'm also excited because of a phone call that I received very early on Sunday morning. I hinted about this in my last post and I now have permission to share with you all......
I'm going to be a Grandma! And in time for Christmas. What a Christmas present that will be.
Of course it is only early days yet but this is such a wonderful journey that I'm about to embark on with my daughter.
So, this has been a very newsy sort of post today. And I'm still really excited and happy!

Monday comes again

Good morning and welcome to the week.
The cycle begins again! :)

The weather on the weekend was just delightful. Saturday looked like it was going to run but it turned out H-O-T! Yesterday was overcast and windy most of the day. I even had to put the doona on the bed last night. Can't believe it.

So what did I do on the weekend?
I think I have finally managed to rid the house of those annoying little creatures called NITS! I have been fighting a losing battle with them for the past 3 weeks or so but I think I've finally eliminated them. Miss Five was most upset when she found me Baygon-ing her school hat though.
Saturday was a busy day. I worked in the morning. I enjoy Saturday morning shifts as they are so much more relaxed. I can wander around the floor and chat to the gym patrons (I can do that at any time but Saturdays are more relaxed for some reason) and because it is also quiet, I can study. Since it was the Man of the House's weekend to work I had Miss Five at work with me. She had a lot of fun. She got down on the volleyball courts and played in the sand. I didn't have so much fun cleaning up the sand when she came back up.
After work finished (and I'd put in about 20 minutes or so on the treadmill), Miss Five and I went to the State School Fun Day where I worked on the Face Painting stall for an hour. Before you think that I was painting artistic masterpieces on faces, I'll let you know I don't have the talent to do that. I collected the money whilst the high school childpractices students did the painting! Then I wandered around the stalls. Spent money.... and basically watched my daughter enjoy herself. Caught up with heaps of people I know and some I haven't seen for a while.
Then I came home a few hours later and turned on PS and started on a new kit. I loved the first lot of papers that I did and was really pleased with them but when I checked them at full size, I found the overlay that I had used had pixelated. So I had to scrap the lot and start again.
I'm loving this kit so far - I've called it 'The Machinery Shed'.
I also have another kit on the go to go in the Digitals store. This one is called 'Sweet Spring'.
I'm hoping to have both ready and in the stores by the end of the week. I spent most of yesterday out in the yard with my camera photographing textures and elements to include in my Machinery Shed kit. In between that I did the washing (got it off the line and the still damp stuff under cover before the rain hit), took Mr 17 to work and changed all the beds.
So today, my week starts again. I'm working a longer shift tonight so today is a bit cut short for me. I have to finish all the other housework and see if I get some time to work on these kits.
I did get some other wonderful news yesterday morning but it's not my secret to tell anyone yet.... so I have to hold it in. But one day I'll shout it to the world (when I'm told I can).

Ch, ch, ch, changes.....

Yes I know, don't clutch your heart in disbelief.... I'm finally making a blog entry.
In all fairness I have been trying to make a new blog post for the past few weeks but the new look blogger has been playing hard to get. I finally worked out my password! rofl

So what changes have happened in my life.... in my real life and in the digi world?
* I am no longer selling at DigiScrapDivas as of the end of March. It's been fun but I just couldn't keep up with everything.
*I now sell at ElementalScraps.
*I am still losing weight but it's coming off much slower these days. I'm not sticking strictly to the Tony Ferguson diet these days but can't give up my shakes. Mmmm I love them so much. lol I've found that the more that I exercise the more my carb needs have increased so I need to modify the diet to suit me.
My doctor is really, really pleased because I am now no longer in the obese range for my BMI.
*Miss Five is absolutely loving school and thriving on it. Her progress is great and she is one of five in her classroom that has jumped ahead in reading. See reading every night to her has paid off. She has such a love of books that is heartwarming to see.
*Mr 17 is still lucky to be breathing. I have reached the end of my tether with him as far as his schoolwork goes. This is his last year but I still can't pound into his head the importance of studying. His priorities are just so skewed! But apart from that I continue to get wonderful comments about him outside of the home. He's quite the wonderful young man apparently.
*I am studying now as well (like I needed more stress in my life - lol). I have decided to do my Certificate iii/iv combined in Fitness. When I finish I will be a personal trainer. After being at my study for about a week now, I'm wondering what I've got myself into..... and I haven't even got to the anatomy and physiology module yet! I'm immersed in learning about nutrition and weight management principles at the moment.
*I am also trying to train my body to run. I've been challenged to do the 10km run in the Gold Coast Marathon this year. At this stage I really don't think that I can do it. I've been interval training on the treadmill several times a week but find that after 2 minutes I can't run no more rofl. On the upside, the muscle definition in my legs is looking good.

Well I think that's a good catchup so far.
Now that I've worked out how to access this thing again, I'll try to keep more up to date than I usually do.
