I know, it's been a while
I just can't seem to find enough hours in the day. I also just don't have the same attraction for sitting at my computer for hours on end.
I nearly died when I realised my last post was nearly 3 months ago. That is pretty sad.
Quick update:
Digital Designing - I retired from designing as of mid-January. I'm sick to death of the all the crap going on out there right now. I suffered a serious lack of designing mojo and then I started my new job so designing is definitely taking a back seat. I had some wonderful loyal customers and CT members and I miss them so much. I miss the interaction with other designers as well. One of the hardest things I had to do was unsubscribe from the designers forums. But you know what? I'm having the best time scrapping (when I get time). I actually go shopping as well and there are some great designers out there. Just got another album printed and my family loves it. That's the main thing hey?
My darling granddaughter - She is just growing so quickly right before my eyes. I adore her. She's such a little chub too. She certainly doesn't look like the 3 months old that she is. Proud gran gets to babysit her one day every week and has the most wonderful time. Of course she's still mainly into sleeping and eating but when she's awake, I love the smiles. Haven't managed to capture one of those on the camera yet because as soon as she sees me with the camera, her whole disposition changes. Gonna have to educate her a bit more methinks.
Family - Miss Six is having the time of her life in Year Two. She is in the same class as her best friend (they've been friends since about 13months old). She is back at dancing now as well. Her best friend went up to the next class level but I opted to keep Miss Six down a bit. It will do her good to break out on her own for the year. And the dance teacher and I agreed that it will give her more confidence in her own abilities. Mr 18 is hardly ever home. When he's not working, he's out partying or clubbing. hmmmmm Did I ever mention his broken finger? Well he's still having problems with it more than 5 months later. He's had two surgeries on it already but is scheduled for more surgery next week because the pins they put in are causing trouble (one popped out in the shower the other night). Ms Mum has just moved house. They are closer to us now but they didn't want to move. Rotten landlord put the rent up and extra $100 per week. Where is the justice in that? Anyway, they've gone from a pretty old timber home (that was in major need of repairs) to a near new brick home in a new estate.
The Man of the House - is still with the council (although he is slotted to go to another council in a couple of weeks due to the council amalgamations here in Qld). Although.... the state government looks like taking control of him since he works with water. Give me a break!! As if we need more stress. He is looking at other sources of work - especially now that he is doing shift work due to the plant he is at going 24 hour. It plays havoc with my work roster as well because someone has to be here for Miss Six outside of school hours.
Work - I started work as a Disability Support Worker just before Christmas. It really is a full-on job and has it's rewards. No two days are ever the same but then it really is a high stress job as well. I work odd hours and I get so tired. It's not physical work, it's the mental stress of trying to stay one step ahead of some of the clients thought processes that is the draining part.
Speaking of which, I'd better go. I have a shift starting in an hour. Ciao
