The deliberations, ramblings, ponderings and sometimes humorous accounts of an addicted Digi scrapper and mother.

My Photo
Name: Sue Jones
Location: Australia

I am a mother, a partner, a scrapper, a designer, a taxi driver, a spell checker etc etc and apparently life 'began' for me on my birthday two years ago. *edited to add*: It has been brought to my attention that some people don't understand what I mean by 'Life began for me last year'. It is just a polite way of telling you how old I really am as there is a saying here in Australia that "Life Begins at 40".

Soooooo....... I'm slack again

I really should do more blog posting than I do. *sigh*
So before I get to my random facts I do have some news (thanks for the prod Joy)! lol
In my last post I mentioned that I was a Guest Goddess at ScrapArtist this month. Well.... I've been asked to stay on permanently so I am now a Creative Goddess and it's so cool. I'm having a great time and the ladies there are supportive and wonderful.

And some good news (also ScrapArtist related).... Lisa Whitney is back designing! Now I don't know about you but I still have and still scrap with her first kit "A Beautiful Mess". It is one of my fall-back-on kits that I know I will use over and over. Lisa has now released "A Beautiful Mess 2" and it's in the store now. You can find Lisa's store here.

Lisa also has a competition running with awesome prizes just by scrapping with these. You can find the details here.

Okay... 10 random things since my last post....
1. Miss Ava has cut her first tooth. She is such a clever possum.
2. Mr 18 has decided to move out of home (breathing huge sigh of relief). He is going tomorrow. He has packed ONE box! And he's just told me that he wants my help to help him move tomorrow. Hope he doesn't expect me to tow the trailer 'cause I'm totally useless at that. I think he's going to have to speak nicely to the MOTH.
3. Since Mr18 is moving out, I now have to declutter my linen cupboard and the kitchen so he doesn't move out without linen and crockery.
4. I am in trouble for spending money on books. I have bought heaps for Miss Six recently and I've been told she has too many. That's what library's are for!! lol
We've got some new Pearlie books but since Miss Six also loves Daisy Meadows we've got some Fairy ones. And she's also discovered Emily Rodda so we're hunting down some of hers. We're currently reading 'Nim's Island' by Wendy Orr. Miss Six knew I was in trouble for spending so much money at the Book Fair yesterday and then she came home with Nim's Island in her hand and said 'Hey Daddy! I've got another book' with a huge grin on her face. Just as he turned to me to say something she pipes up with 'We borrowed it from the school library'! Cheeky child.
5. I haven't worked much this week but instead of freaking over not a lot of hours I've decided to enjoy the peace and quiet in between hectic shifts.
6. The MOTH built a second story to the tree 'house' (more of a platform than a house) for Miss Six and her little friends to play in. Miss Six fell over the edge the other day but Daddy caught her in time. The teens across the road have discovered the tree house and have decided it's fun to come and visit and 'play' with the little kids each afternoon.
7. Cold weather is setting in and I love it. Nothing like a bracing wind on your face. I had the usual conversation with FIL the other day that I have every year. He's a real summer person and I'm not. It's fun to bait each other.
8. We're planning a few days away during the school holidays. I have put in for leave and so has the MOTH so we've got a few days overlap. We're looking at going to Stanthorpe for a bit of a change. Should be fun. They've already had minus 1 there in the past week.
9. Miss Six is in the local paper today so she's taken it for her News Day today. She had her picture snapped by the paper photographer at the Country & Horse Festival the other day.
10. Last but not least...... ummmmmm... I can't think of anything else. I'm pretty boring. lol

Have a good one!

This Week

has been only slightly less boring than last week!
Oh! With the exception that I am a Guest Goddess at ScrapArtist and I'm loving every minute of it. The MOTH just looked at me when I told him and said "I thought you were giving all that stuff up?" I gave up designing - not scrapping. He doesn't get that there is a difference between trying to get stuff designed, into the store, marketing etc etc and just scrapping because I really enjoy it!! And I scrap each night when I can anyway. So.. the ladies there are just terrific and have made me feel welcome and it's a real buzz to see my layouts on the SA homepage. That is, until someone else comes along and bumps me off! lol But it's great fun.

So.... here are the random facts for the week
1. We went to the Telstra shop to sort out bills and it was all explained to us. I kept getting hot under the collar (blame PMS) and the MOTH had to tell me to calm down but at least we have a grasp of things now and have changed our plan slightly to cut the cost of the calls.
2. Little Miss Ava is crawling around me right now and trying to pull everything out of my computer desk and smiling at me each time I say 'no'. She thinks that smile will melt my heart every time. Well it does. And I confess to saying 'no' with a big smile on my face.
3. Judging by the noises I am hearing, I think I will have to excuse myself in a moment and go and deal with the rear end of said Miss Ava.
4. Miss Six got a special Merit award for Super Sentences in her homework last week. My favourite sentence was "My mummy and daddy are very funny. But they are not boring." The teacher translated that back to me as "Mum and Dad are nuts".
5. I think Miss Six is a bit of a tomboy. The other day whilst playing inside (we sent up tents and tunnels for her and the little boy from a few doors up), I suggested to her that she might be more comfortable crawling around on the floor if she changed out of her skirt. She looked at me and say "But why Mum"? The MOTH and I just looked at each other and rolled our eyes.
6. I stand by my fact last week that I prefer to work with non-verbal clients with behaviours than those that are capable of manipulating situations and arguing back.
7. We were just buzzed by two F1-11's. Very exciting. Sue ran outside to get a look and managed to hook her trackies on the back of one of the kitchen chairs and pulled it over. In trying to stop it hit the floor I jammed my finger. Said finger is now throbbing.
8. I have finished my first trilogy of David Eddings books and I'm hooked. Have borrowed the first of the next series from the library and plan on starting it tonight after I have done some scrapping. I also bought a Kathy Reichs double from one of those booksellers that leave books in the workplace.
9. I have put in for leave for the first week of the school holidays. I'd really like to organise to catch up with some Brissie scrappers sometime that week if I could. (Provided my leave is approved).
10. I have washing here waiting to be hung out. Don't trust it not to rain today so it will be hung under cover.

And last but not least some of this week's layouts. Hang on.... baby in the rubbish bin.... back. She just smiled at me again when I said no.

Gotta go... grumpy baby.
